Joe DeFeo

Joe DeFeo has a proven track record as a seasoned commercial real estate broker with more than 20 years of experience in the competitive New Jersey and New York area.

In his role as Director of Leasing for The Network Realty Group, Joe is responsible for a privately owned one-million-square-foot retail, office and industrial portfolio. He manages leasing and negotiates all deals for 14 shopping centers and one office site, consummating approximately 20 to 25 new leases each year with local and national tenants. He also developed third-party leasing and property divisions that have generated fee revenue for the firm.

Prior to joining The Network Realty Group, Joe was a Senior Retail Leasing Representative at Levin Management, where he managed a 12-million-square-foot retail portfolio and cultivated relationships with host of national retailers to identify and quality potential tenants. He was also Vice President of Retail Leasing for the Kislak Company where he developed a Retail Real Estate Division for the firm, which had previously focused on multi-family properties. Joe grew the new division, adding four brokers to the team and was responsible for all leasing assignments. He also worked as a Senior Leasing Representative for The Heller Group where he negotiated all deals and managed leasing for a two-million-square-foot family owned portfolio consisting of 20 shopping centers and four office buildings.

Among his major transactions are deals with well-established national retailers such as Subway, Learning Express, Spencer Bank, Supercuts, Ladies Workout Express, Kumon Learning, European Wax, Let’s Yo Yogurt, GameStop, GNC and Radio Shack. Other notable names include Sears Outlet, Joyce Leslie, Bertucci’s, NY & Co., The Gap, Pier One Imports, Wells Fargo, GoodYear, UPS, Save-A-Lot, Cricket Wireless, Blink Fitness and DaVita Dialysis.

Joe has been a New Jersey Licensed Real Estate Broker since 1999 and is a member of ICSC. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Seton Hall University.

Jennifer Sofia

Jennifer Sofia’s 20-year real estate career began as a real estate paralegal followed by a property management position for a New Jersey real estate developer. In this role, she headed leasing and development efforts as well as all aspects of property management for more than 500,000 square feet of retail, office and warehouse space. Specific negotiations included CAM billings/audits, lease negotiations and tenant coordination. She successfully completed transactions with Hudson City Savings Bank, Party City, CVS, DMV, Retro Fitness, Kabloom, Quiznos and a host of local tenants.

Jennifer took that experience to Toys R Us where she joined the company’s property development team as Asset Manager, acting as a liaison between the construction, real estate, legal, design and accounting departments to complete company-wide initiatives and construction projects across the brand’s national portfolio of owned and leased assets.

After more than six years at Toys R Us, Jennifer took an opportunity to join the newly formed retail team at Cushman & Wakefield, which offered New Jersey retail brokerage services to their national client base as well as generated new business. Since then, she worked on both landlord and tenant representation assignments at Cushman & Wakefield, Colliers International, Justin Commercial before joining The Network Realty Group.

She continues to assist property owners and retailers in achieving their real estate objectives, expansion plans and maximizing property value.
